THE New Minimalism BOOK
“This is minimalism for the rest of us…[a] more practical take on the less-is-more lifestyle [that is] more about ending the cycle of “busy” than creating a perfect house.”
The decluttering craze meets a passion for sustainable living and interior design in this gorgeous book, published by Sasquatch Books (Seattle, WA) and distributed by Penguin Random House (NYC).
This book promises an opportunity for self-reflection and lasting change, by getting to the bottom of why we've accumulated too much stuff in the first place, therefore allowing us to transform our lives.
Professional decluttering and design team Cary and Kyle of New Minimalism will take you through every step, from assessing your emotional relationship to your stuff to decluttering your home to then turning it into a beautifully designed space that feels clean and tidy without feeling sparse or prescriptive. And all of this without filling up a landfill. You'll find resources and strategies to donate and reuse your stuff so you don't have to feel guilty about getting rid of it!
about THE founders
Founders, Cary Fortin and Kyle Quilici
It was while carpooling to a yoga retreat (so California of us), that Cary and Kyle were introduced. On that 6-hour car ride they got deep, and geeked-out on their shared passion for sustainable design and simple living.
After a few more coffee dates back home in San Francisco, they felt like they had stumbled upon a gold-mine. A simple lifestyle results in more time, fewer stresses, saved money and deeper relationships?! They knew they had to teach others how they too could attain this glorious lifestyle.
Cary already had a personal blog called New Minimalism, and Kyle loved the name, so they kept the blog and got to work creating a decluttering process to teach others how to simplify and majorly overhaul and up-level their homes at the same time.
Fast forward to today, and they have since taught hundreds of clients how to declutter for good. It was from documenting their process and discoveries on the blog that they landed a book deal with Penguin-Random House. Their first book, New Minimalism, was published in 2018, and their second book, the New Minimalism Journal was published in 2020.
While they no longer hold in-person client sessions, they write and speak about the philosophy often. Please reach out for speaking inquiries! Hello@newminimalism.com
Kyle still lives in San Francisco, California where New Minimalism was founded, and Cary and her family now reside in beautiful Boise, Idaho.

Your Guide to a Less Cluttered Life
We recognized that much of the work that goes into a successful decluttering (note the italics, there) comes from first
getting emotionally clear.
Getting clear on:
+ what motivates you
+ what your priorities are
+ your personal blindspots and why you collect in the first place
So we teamed up with Sasquatch Books again to bring you this beauty! Published Jan 2020, this guided journal is the perfect companion to our first book, as a way to dive deeper into your habits and mindset.
